Tantalus + Jim Haberl Hut

Our location at the Squamish Airport offers easy access to a multitude of backcountry adventures, including helicopter service in and out of the Tantalus Provicial Park. Both the Tantalus Hut directly on Lake Lovelywater and the Jim Haberl Hut are managed by the Alpine Club of Canada - Vancouver Section and offer convienient access to day hikes and renowned mountaineering.

Jim haberl hut - Ski Touring / Mountaineering

The Jim Haberl Hut is located just northwest of Squamish, BC. It is located at 6800’ in the Serratus-Dione Col on the edge of Tantalus Provincial Park. 

The terrain around the hut is dramatic and appropriate for intermediate and advanced climbers with a variety of routes on Mt. Tantalus (8540'); Dione (8500'); Alpha (7562'); Serratus 2326m and more. Steep skiing and boarding is possible for experienced groups in the spring.

lake lovelywater - CAMPING / tantalus hut

The hut is located within the Tantalus Provincial Park on the east (outflow) end of Lake Lovely Water, approximately 64 km (40 miles) northwest of Vancouver at an elevation of 1,173 m / 3,850 ft.

There are various hiking, fishing, mountaineering options throughout the park. There are a limited number of tent pads (approx 15) availiable in the designated camping area should your party prefer tenting to hut accommodations.

BC Parks has restricted the use of personal watercraft’s, inflatables, campfires, excessive alcohol and dogs. Ensure you review the BC Parks website to familiarize yourself with park policies.

Both the Tantalus & Jim Haberl Hut are managed and operated by The Alpine Club of Canada - Vancouver Section.
Both require advance reservations.

All guests will be required to review and complete a waiver prior to participation.
